Craws For A Cause (formerly known as Craws For Paws) is a crawfish fundraiser that's goal this year is to raise $70,000 for Baptist Health's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). With $70,000 we will be able to purchase 2 Giraffe-OMNI Beds. These special incubator beds are special to my family because without them our son Aiden may have not made it.

Aiden Adams was born September 20, 2008 coming into the world 16 weeks early. He only weighed 1 pound, 5 ounces and was only given a 50% chance of surviving. Aiden had other plans! The Giraffe Omni-Bed allowed him to grow and made it easier for nurses and doctors to do their jobs.

The Giraffe Omni-Bed is a full-featured incubator and radiant warmer that eliminates the stress of moving critically-ill infants that weigh between 1-3 pounds from bed to bed. It includes an in-bed scale which allows weights to be taken and trended without removing the baby. It gives these babies the best fighting chance for a healthy life. It can help impede future years of costly therapy, intervention, and medical care for developmental delay or developmental disabilities.

Unfortunately there aren't enough of these amazing incubators in central Arkansas NICUs as there are premature babies that need them right now. Each one costs $35000, and we want to buy two of them, but we need your help! We hope to see you at Craws For A Cause 2010. Go to www.CrawsForACause.com for details and to donate to the cause.
